This week I took the shortest trip to Disneyland of my life. Whirlwind. Sunday D, J, S & I took the long drive down I-5.
Finally reached LA.
We had dinner at Doria's Haus of Pizza. An Italian Haus apparently. It was delicious and the waitress took my request for "lots of lemon" seriously.
Disneyland
One of the big ticket items on this trip was lunch at Club 33. One of my lovely friends got us in through her employer, who has a membership.
Inside. (Note: Thanks to A, who I stole many photos from)
The elevator and stairs up to the restaurant.
D riding up in the elevator.
The hallway.
S & A at the table.
C & I at the table.
S & S at the table.
D & I waiting for our next course.
Lunch was quite the affair. You order your entree from the menu and then head over to an extensive buffet of fruit, salad, veggies, cheese, meat, sea food, soup and bread.
My takings from the buffet.
Then your entree arrives.
Afterwards you attack a giant dessert buffet. I wanted to skip the rest of the meal and head straight for dessert when we first walked in and saw the selections.
I tried less than half of the dessert options.
After lunch we headed out to the balcony surrounding the dining room. The main dining room is located directly above Cafe Orleans.
The park filled up during the hour we were at lunch.
After digesting we were off for more rides.
S, D, A, & S
Worst photo bomb ever. Later, in line for Star Tours, C also inserted himself into a stranger's photo.
S, J, me, C, S, & D.
My score beat everyone in our group, not just C - who I annihilated by almost 64,000 points.
A was a nervously close second.
The tower of terror - I need to work on my terror face.
D (getting strangled in the back), S, A, & S.
J, S, me, & C.
I love Disneyland at night
Me, C, J, & S.
Our last stop of the night was the most exciting attraction of all - first aid. C got something stuck in his eye and had to wander around in pain for about an hour before we took him to flush out his eye.
Tuesday we drove back. A short but lovely excursion.

Spring
Spring and Fall are my favorite seasons. I don't like to be hot nor do I enjoy being cold. I know it will soon become miserably hot, so I'm trying my best to enjoy how amazing the weather currently is.
Photo's taken on the drive out to my parent's house, small town girl.
Various flowers that have adorned the apartment lately. C and I picked some lovely roses from her boyfriend's grandparent's garden Sunday and my apartment currently smells like a rose garden.

Old City Cemetery Tour
Despite how it might appear I actually do not spend all of my weekends at cemeteries. Though I am averaging about one day a month. I've been wanting to visit the Sacramento Old City Cemetery for one of their history tours. This Saturday's did not disappoint, the focus was police, law, and fire. Sacramento was a pretty rough place in the late 1800's. One of the many bizarre stories was of a gambler who mortally wounded a blacksmith, the shooting pretty much started a riot. The blacksmith did live long enough to hear of the gamblers hanging for his murder (even if he wasn't dead yet) and now they are buried 5-7 plots away from each other in the cemetery.
This is our main tour guide. Don't worry there were several other individuals also dressed up in period garb who shared stories at different grave sites.
On top of the amazing flowers the majority of the headstones are unique and visually stunning. Next month's history tour focuses on headstone carving...I die. I have to make room in my schedule.
This monument to Ulises S. Grant and the Civil War is actually painted. I've never seen that before, stained glass - yes, painted sculptures - no.
The last stop on the tour was the firefighters plot. Each headstone listed the engine co. number of individual.
Glad Dad is now retired.
The weather was beautiful (minus the wind). It was a great Saturday morning.

I was walking by this headstone at a pace just fast enough to read the first two lines.
Stopped me dead in my tracks.
Upon reading the headstone in entirety I was much less shocked. I wonder if this association has had a resurgence in the past few years.
I may have mentioned before that this cemetery has an adopt a plot program (which I was crushed to learn requires a 2-year commitment), where one takes care of a plot which has no relations to care for it. Hence almost every plot is a fountain of blooms. It really is one of the most botanical cemeteries I seen.
