Auburn

The grandparents have been staying up in Auburn with my aunt and uncle while Papa has cancer treatments. After the most recent prognosis I drove up for a visit while my parents were doing weekend-sitting.

It was ridiculously hot for October, but we got Papa out on the deck with the babes. Heat levels corresponded accurately to the amount of energy J & Q put into their juice drinking.

It was hot.

Grandpa helps J with his sticker covered socks and shoes following our efforts to sneak up on a dear in a neighbor's field. J and I made good progress until Q realized what we were doing and came screaming across the wilderness of the backyard. Bambi's mom was off like a rocket.

I'm loathing the steadily approaching absence of one of these profiles from my life. Hopefully there will be time for a few more weekend visits.

My First Books

I bound my first books!

Maybe I should be surprised it took 30 years for me to give bookbinding a try. Thankfully J was a smart sister and took the bookbinding class at BYU, her input was much appreciated.

They aren't perfect, but my first four attempts may be considered a success. I'm now finding all kinds of papers I've got laying around that I want to make into books.

Travel Bag

I've been on the hunt for my ideal bag to take on vacation. It needed to be a cross body bag with specific size requirements for things I plan to carry. My lovely friend T told me where she got the bag she took traveling last summer. I went to H&M in haste and happened upon this lovely orange number, perfect for what I need.
Except the cheap-shiny-slippery-meshy fabric inside was not what I hoped for. No matter, I made myself a new lining. Problem solved.

Notice the old fabric top right?

I did overlook one thing...pockets. There will be much digging around the bottom of the bag.

Hero

Friend's K & A dressed up for an fundraiser at A's work. This "dress up" included K wearing a Mr. Incredible costume - naturally, being the considerate friend I am I HAD to stop in and take a photo of him.

This first one consists of him accusing me of only taking photos in order to tease him.

The superhero pose.
