SF

Way back J and I attended the Renegade Craft Fair in SF - it was amazing. I think we both were overcome with hundreds of good ideas for projects, and because I'm kind of a snob about these things I prevented her form making a lot of purchases because, let's be honest, she and I could make a lot of the stuff we liked ourselves and done it better.

A few weeks later we took G and the babes down for the Treasure Island Flea Market which was terribly overpriced and much smaller than expected, we did have a good time walking around.

Afterward we headed to Golden Gate Park (picking up a delish spinach, feta, olive pizza a couple blocks from the park) for a picnic.

The babes couldn't resist the park. I was slightly saddened to see that all the hazardous play structures I had loved so much had been replaced. I have fond memories of the Svz Grandparents taking us there. J and I had a hard time keeping up with the tykes - they were in heaven. Lil' J was also pretty thrilled to push Q on the swings.

Her cheeks!

So fun.

I love J's pose, perfecting his swing snap.

I think it took her a while to figure out exactly who was pushing her.

Laughing hysterically at himself in the car.

I love how you can hear the J-Speak in this, "Garble, garble, garble. BIRDS! Where going? birds? Garble, Garble, Garble..."

Little Ones Visit

I love that J & Q have their unique little personalities. J comes in and the first thing he says is "race cars?" - he heads over to the tin toy track. Q heads for the bookshelf.

Her selection: The Chicago Manual of Style, Voltaire's Candide & Jamberry (a Svz family favorite).

In the continuing catch-up posts here are the before photos of my new place,

The first items to get unpacked - books, of course.

Moving was interesting. Because of weather/planning variables we ended up packing most of my stuff up and putting it in BH's moving van on Tuesday. Of course it was probably the coldest day of the summer and raining, at the end of June. We unloaded on Saturday, which was one of the hottest days of the summer - good fun.

It really is lovely. I do miss everyone at Scottish gardens but being downtown there are always people around - even when you don't want them. You'll notice there are no photos of the bedroom, there is one, and it's fairly well proportioned...I'm just not sure what to do with it yet.

Air Show

Despite vehicle difficulties I made it out to A's to watch the Air Show last Saturday. I'm quite surprised by the number of planes I've seen this summer: Open Cockpit Night at the Air Museum with C and R, the USS Midway, the awful film K and I watched a few weekends ago about a 80's battle ship that gets sent back in time to the day of the Pearl Harbor attack...and then the Air Show. I'm not complaining, it's just not something I normally figure into my life except every few years.
