Comic Visionaries

While in Cleveland with T I picked up what has to be one of the most fantastic books ever, though I waited until I was home to order it.

It arrived last week and has provided diversion, confusion, and many smiles. Here is a small sampling.

I'd be interested to see Steve's impressions on current fashion trends. 

Whiteboy is seriously epic, and absolutely as culturally insensitive as it possible, totem carving Japanese characters show up near the end, still haven't figured that one out yet.

Herbie however is my absolute favorite!

Little does his father know, but his chubby lolly-pop wielding son is actually a champion of justice. In this particular strip he saves the British Empire from the Loch Ness Monster through the use of super power lolly-pops.

The line about Lady Bird...priceless.

Because it would just be tragic not to post these photos of K:

A needed a photo of K for her bridal shower back home - the goal was to make everyone guess which one of a number of photos was her fiancee - this is what K came up with for his shot and I was happy to serve as photographer. Seriously one of the funniest kids ever! How could you not love him?

Berkeley

Saturday we moved my friends D and N down to Berkeley. After we'd unpacked the moving van we walked down the street to a charming restaurant D treated all eleven of us at. Next door there was a great little (ridiculously overpriced) antiques store. I can't wait to go back down and stay for a visit.

 

K & A's Wedding
